Boxes

Category:

Project creation

Class Length:

3.0 hours

A perfect introduction to woodworking and shop tools, this class walks students through the process of building two simple wooden boxes while learning the essentials of measurement, alignment, and assembly. Using pre-cut materials, participants will practice safe tool operation, accurate layout, and straightforward joinery methods that form the basis of countless woodworking projects.
You’ll start by constructing your first box with nail guns, learning how to ensure square corners and clean edges. In the second half, you’ll build a sturdier box using drills and drivers, exploring screw-fastened construction and tool control. Along the way, instructors emphasize safe technique, problem-solving, and attention to detail; skills you’ll carry into every future project.
By the end, you’ll have two finished boxes and a solid foundation in shop safety, measurement, and basic tool use.
