In this hands-on sculptural workshop, students will design and build their own paper creature from the inside out. Starting with a custom base and armature, participants will learn how to create stable forms using wood, aluminum foil, felt, and clay—then bring their creatures to life with layered paper techniques.
The class focuses on structure, balance, and expressive form, introducing paper mache and cut-paper methods to add texture, color, and personality. Emphasis is placed on experimentation and play rather than perfection, and every creature will be unique.
This class is ideal for anyone interested in mixed-media sculpture, crafting, or imaginative object-making. You’ll leave with a partially or fully finished paper creature and the skills to continue developing your work at home.
