Circular Saw - Sawhorses

Category:

Project creation

Class Length:

3.5 hours

This hands-on class is designed to build confidence and precision with one of the most versatile tools in carpentry: the circular saw. Students will learn how to safely and accurately use a variety of different circular saws while constructing a matched pair of sturdy sawhorses from dimensional lumber.

The class emphasizes real-world techniques, including measuring and marking, making straight and angled cuts, gang cutting for efficiency, and assembling parts with drills and drivers. Along the way, instructors focus on safety, tool setup, and problem-solving, helping students understand how to achieve consistent results even when working with portable tools and rough materials.

By the end of the session, each student will leave with two stackable sawhorses and the practical skills needed to prep materials on a jobsite, in a driveway, or in a home workshop—making this an ideal class for anyone looking to expand their carpentry toolkit beyond stationary machines.
